Just one week ago, after the first installment of "Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series" two SuckerPunch Entertainment athletes walked out of the UFC's Las Vegas Training Facility with UFC contracts. Both Boston Salmon and Kurt Holobaugh impressed the UFC brass enough to earn themselves a deal with the sport's number one organization and surely there are plenty of headlines to come from those guys.
This week, four more Alliance MMA alumni get their shot to compete in the UFC. In the main event, Iron Tiger Heavyweight Champion and Cage Fury Fighting Championships Heavyweight Champion Dan "Dragon" Spohn (15-5) faces Jared de Anda (18-5). Spohn has gone 7-1 since losing on The Ultimate Fighter Season 19 Finale, and he hopes to cement himself amongst the top 205-ers in the UFC with a statement win tonight.
In a featured featherweight bout, Lazar Stojadinovic (12-5) faces Thanh Le (6-1). Stojadinovic is a two-time Alliance MMA combatant fighting for Shogun Fights and Fight Time Promotions. Lazar has been waiting for his chance for a long time and finally gets that opportunity to move up the ladder this evening.
Prior to that bout, folks will see a welterweight fight featuring Sidney "Da Gun" Outlaw (8-3) versus Michael Cora (4-1). Outlaw is a former CFFC competitor and the Ring Of Combat Regional Lightweight Champion. Sidney is riding high coming off a win where he defeated James Rumley via first round submission to win the ROC belt.
To kick off the evening, Iron Tiger and National Fighting Championship vet Cee Jay Hamilton (11-4) will throw down with Casey Kenny (6-0-1) in a flyweight battle. Hamilton has fought on the regional circuit for several years and has tons of high-level experience. At 30-years-old, the time is now for Hamilton to fight for the UFC.
